I started pitching when I was 8 years old then competed at the D1 level. I was not aware of how unprepared I was until I got to KSU. I truly wish I would’ve had more resources during my softball journey.  That is why I have created this platform. I want pitchers to have what I didn’t. They need structure and someone to push them out of their comfort zone. They need a mentor that they can depend on as they advance.

The Missing Piece

Sports Nutrition (Coming Fall 2026)

Shayla Taylor, RDN I earned my BS in Nutrition and Dietetics from Eastern Kentucky University in 2021 and became a board-certified registered dietitian in 2023. This fall, I’m bringing my love for softball and science-backed nutrition together to launch a sports nutrition program built for athletes. If you want to perform at your highest level, it starts with how you fuel.

The Fuel and Fire Approach

1. The What

Pitchers will learn to ask the right "what" questions to begin self-correcting mechanics: What did I feel? What do I need to focus on?

2. The When & Where

Asking "when" and "where" helps pitchers tune into their body. When do I release? Where should my hand be on a curveball?

3. The Why

When pitchers grasp "why" things happen, they can make lasting corrections. Why is the ball high? Why is my changeup too fast?
